
Garlic Shrimp Recipe with Butter
🧈 Garlic Butter Shrimp
Serves: 3–4

Ingredients

400 g shrimp, peeled & deveined
-
4–6 cloves garlic, minced
-
3 tbsp butter
-
1 tbsp olive oil (prevents butter from burning)
-
½ tsp paprika (optional, for color)
-
½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
-
Salt & black pepper, to taste
-
½ lemon (juice)
-
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
1. Season the shrimp
-
Pat the shrimp dry.

Season lightly with salt, pepper, and paprika (optional).
2. Sear the shrimp
-
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Add olive oil + 1 tbsp butter.
-
Add shrimp in a single layer.
-
Cook 1½–2 minutes per side until pink and just cooked.

Remove the shrimp and set aside.
3. Make the garlic butter sauce
-
Lower heat to medium.
-
Add the remaining 2 tbsp butter.
-
Add garlic and sauté 20–30 seconds until fragrant (don’t brown).
-
Add red pepper flakes if using.
4. Combine & finish

Return shrimp to the skillet.

Toss well to coat in the garlic butter.

Squeeze in lemon juice.

Taste and adjust with more salt/pepper if needed.

Garnish with chopped parsley.

Creamy garlic butter shrimp: Add ½ cup heavy cream + ¼ cup parmesan.

Honey garlic butter shrimp: Add 1 tbsp honey to the sauce.

Spicy version: Add extra chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
* 1 pound butter
* 3 bunches scallions, chopped
* 12 medium cloves garlic, chopped
* 1/2 cup chopped parsley
* 2 teaspoons salt
* 1/2 teaspoon pepper
* 1 1/2 cups dry sherry
* 1 1/2 pounds medium to large shrimp, peeled and deveined
* 2 sweet red bell peppers, cut in thin sticks
* chopped parsley, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS:
Melt butter in saucepan. Add the scallions and garlic; cook 3 minutes. Add parsley, salt, pepper and Sherry; simmer 2 minutes and set aside.
Pour a small amount of the butter mixture into a skillet. Sauté the shrimp in batches, adding more butter mixture as needed. Arrange the sauteed shrimp on a serving platter. Saute the red peppers in the pan; add the rest of the butter mixture and pour over the shrimp.
