This shrimp, enveloped in the finest lemon garlic butter sauce, is incredibly easy to prepare and is a straightforward recipe that is sure to impress! Should you desire an oven method for a similar dish, refer to my recipe for Lemon Garlic Herb Shrimp in Packets.

HOW TO PREPARE LEMON HERB GARLIC BUTTER SHRIMP
Begin by melting some butter, then incorporate minced garlic and raw, deveined shrimp. Season the shrimp with salt, pepper, and sweet paprika; cook for 2 minutes on each side. As the shrimp begin to turn pink, add butter, lemon juice, and herbs; I prefer fresh thyme or fresh basil and parsley, but feel free to use any fresh herbs you enjoy. Once the shrimp are fully pink, take them off the heat. DO NOT overcook them. If they are cooked for too long, they will become rubbery, which is certainly undesirable. In total, shrimp require only 4 to 5 minutes to cook.

Taste for seasoning and make adjustments as needed. I ALWAYS add extra lemon juice. It’s never sufficient. 🤷‍♀️

Therefore, with the finest flavors and the quickest preparation time, Lemon Herb Garlic Butter Shrimp is a simple recipe that comes together in very little time and can be served over anything. Or, even on its own! Just you, the skillet with shrimp, and a fork. Enjoy your meal. 🍤

Additionally, it is LOW CARB and Keto-Friendly, allowing you to indulge in the entire dish. 😉

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COOK RAW SHRIMP?
Shrimp requires only 4 to 5 minutes to be cooked in a skillet. Cook the shrimp until it turns completely pink and opaque, ensuring that there are no remaining grey or bluish areas.

Insanely Delicious Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Insanely Delicious Spicy Grilled Shrimp

Spicy Grilled Shrimp are incredibly simple to prepare and are bursting with flavor. These spicy shrimp are ideal for grilling, making for a quick and smoky dinner. The sweet and spicy wet rub is straightforward to prepare and serves as a perfect complement to the shrimp.

SPICY GRILLED SHRIMP
Deciding what to prepare for dinner is a perpetual challenge. Whether you find yourself at the grocery store or gazing into an open refrigerator, it can be frustrating to make a choice. When uncertain, I often opt for shrimp. Shrimp is the quickest and simplest protein to cook, and it pairs well with a variety of flavors. I am certain there is a bag of shrimp in your freezer; simply defrost it, and you will have a fantastic dinner.
If you enjoy bold and spicy flavors, this recipe is ideal. This wet rub is exceptional, and you can easily modify the spice level to suit your preference for heat. The reason this seasoning is so delightful is due to the blend of sweet, spicy, and sour flavors. A hint of brown sugar combined with a squeeze of lemon creates a wonderful balance against the spicy cayenne pepper. It also complements the shrimp's natural sweetness effectively.
As the shrimp will only require approximately 6-8 minutes on the grill, it makes for a convenient dinner option or a delightful addition to grilled chicken and steak. If you plan to serve shrimp alongside chicken, ensure that you begin cooking the chicken first. Conversely, if you are preparing shrimp with steaks, the temperature of the steak will dictate when to place the shrimp on the grill.

WHAT SPICES TO USE IN WET RUB
A wet rub is essentially a mixture of dry rub seasonings and wet ingredients. Wet ingredients can include items such as oil, vinegar, fruit juices, alcohol, mustard, or a combination of these. I particularly enjoy using wet rubs because they adhere much better to meat compared to a marinade.

For spicy shrimp, I blend sweet, salty, spicy, and earthy flavors:

Fresh garlic
Cayenne pepper
Paprika
Brown sugar
Garlic powder
Salt
Thyme
Oil
Lemon Juice

GRILL NOTES:
  • Coals: briquettes or lump coal
  • Grill temperature: medium: 350°-425° (1/2 to 2/3 filled chimney)
  • Placement on the grill: direct
  • Wood if desired: apple, pecan, cherry, alder
  • shrimp on skewers in wet rub

HOW TO MAKE SPICY GRILLED SHRIMP
The first step is to soak the skewers, as this process takes the longest. Submerge wooden skewers in water and allow them to soak for approximately 20-30 minutes.

Why is it necessary to soak skewers?
Thin wooden skewers are prone to catching fire and burning easily. By soaking the skewers, you infuse moisture into them, which must evaporate before the wood ignites. This provides sufficient time for your food to cook before the skewers catch fire.

Prepare shrimp:
Ensure that the shrimp is fully thawed if using frozen shrimp. Peel and de-vein the shrimp if necessary, rinse them, and dry them with a paper towel.

Mix all the ingredients for the wet rub thoroughly. Add the shrimp and wet rub to a mixing bowl and toss until the shrimp is evenly coated.

Allow the shrimp to rest while preparing the coals.

Grilling shrimp:
Once the coals are ready, place them on the grill, spreading them in a single even layer (or create a two-fire zone) and close the lid to preheat the grill.

While the grill is preheating, thread the shrimp onto the soaked skewers.

If your grill grate is seasoned, there is no need to add oil to the shrimp. If it is not seasoned, you may spray the shrimp skewers with non-stick cooking spray on both sides before placing them on the grill.

Position the shrimp skewers directly over the fire on the grill and cook for 3-5 minutes on each side. The exact cooking time will depend on the size of the shrimp. You should aim for the shrimp to become opaque on both sides.
